Sermon text: Luke 9:51 Jesus was not caught by surprise when He was arrested in Jerusalem the week after He entered the city so triumphantly. He knew why He was arrested and what the punishment would be. He had told His disciples repeatedly that He would be killed in Jerusalem. He also told them He’d rise again. But for all that He knew He would go through, He was totally focused on completing His mission.
Triumphant (Mark 11:1-10)
Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem on what we call Palm Sunday. Less than a week later those who cheered for him demanded his crucifixion. Christians need to realize that we will face opposition when we tell others about Jesus. We will ultimately be triumphant, but we must recognize the cost of discipleship.
How to Be Thankful (Hebrews 13:15-16)
As the writer of Hebrews begins to wrap up his letter, he encourages his readers to be thankful. He urges those who have received salvation through Jesus Christ to be persistent in offering the sacrifice of praise. But this praise should not be silent.
