Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus on the way to Jerusalem is so well known that there’s a children song about it. However, as you dig deeper into their meeting you see much more than a little tune can give you. Zacchaeus was an outcast even as he lived among the people every day. His experience shows that being on the fringes of society is about a lot more than economics or background. But the biggest takeaway from these verses is that Jesus changes people. Regardless of your past, Jesus can make your life new.
